Hao Yu

Research Associate @ University of Edinburgh

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the School of Engineering in the Institute for Imaging, Data and Communications (IDCOM) at the University of Edinburgh, supervised by Dr. Yunjie Yang. Previously, I completed my PhD at University of Edinburgh, advised by Dr. Jiabin Jia (co-advised by Dr. Chang Liu). Prior to that, I obtained my Master's degree from Harbin Institute of Technology, supervised by Prof. Jibin Zou and co-supervised by Prof. Guodong Yu.

My research focuses on physical AI driven by instrumentation and measurement, exploring how AI can be empowered by instrument-based observations to perceive and understand complex, multiscale physical systems—from individual health to industrial processes and environmental sensing.
